The Narrowest Garden in the Netherlands

This week I read about this wonderful initiative in Amsterdam. The original article is in Dutch so here is a summary of it.

Artists Claudia Mulder and René Bosch have created the narrowest garden in the Netherlands, on the Nieuwe Herengracht in Amsterdam. It is on the canal, against the wooden boat rail it is only 12 centimeters (5 inches) wide and 130 meters (140 yards) long.

In order for the artists to create this garden they carried 100 liters of potting mix and used forty packets of seeds. They ventured into the canal with a rubber boat and two watering cans.

Claudia had said that for them it is proof that you can achieve the things that appear impossible with enthusiasm and determination.
